SENATE HOUSE STATE HISTORIC SITE

Senate House State Historic Site preserves and interprets the 18th century home of the VanGaasbeek family. It was here that the New York State Senate held its first meeting in 1777 in the midst of the American Revolution. During the day of the event, guided tours of Senate House will be available, as well access to the museum building, which showcases two floors of exhibits. The site is open for tours from mid-April – October 31st on Wednesdays – Saturdays, 10am – 5pm, and Sundays, 1pm – 5pm, with special events hosted throughout the year.
